Development / Custom Development

A custom enterprise software development company for teams that outgrew no-code.

We build applications, portals and custom front-ends in React and Next.js, with the architecture scoped before anyone writes a line of code. Most marketing sites never need this. If yours is really an application, six weeks gets you a working product and documentation your own developers can pick up.

7+ years in design and development. Clients in 17+ countries.

Before you read further

When the site is really an application.

If you are building a marketing site, a campaign site, or a content-driven site with a CMS, Framer development gets you there faster and cheaper. Custom development is for the projects that genuinely cannot fit: real application logic, real data models, real integrations.

Custom development starts where a visual builder stops. You have outgrown no-code when you need user accounts and permission models, application logic that lives in your product rather than on your site, a real database schema, deep two-way integrations with internal systems, or performance and compliance requirements that need control over the whole stack.

How it goes wrong

The common failure is forcing a complex product into no-code: the marketing site went well, so a client portal gets built on top of it, then it needs permissions, then it needs to talk to the CRM, and every new requirement adds another workaround until the workarounds start breaking each other.

The quieter, more expensive failure is jumping to custom without scoping the architecture. Code gets written before anyone agreed what the system had to do. Six months later the build works but nobody on your team can safely change it. You do not own a product, you own a dependency.

The honest frame

Most of the work we do is Framer development, and most of the time that is the right answer. Custom development is the exception, not the default. A Framer marketing site with one custom application behind it is often the right architecture, and cheaper than making either half do the other half's job.

What we build

Applications, portals and custom front-ends.

Every engagement produces artefacts you keep: a component library, documented APIs, an architecture diagram, and handoff documentation written so a developer who has never met us can pick it up.
01

Custom front-ends

React and Next.js on top of existing back-ends or headless systems, delivered as a documented component library rather than a set of pages.

02

Client and partner portals

Accounts, permissions, dashboards and document access, built to a real data model.

03

Applications and custom CRM development

Built on systems you already run, when an off-the-shelf CRM cannot model your process.

04

Integrations

Two-way connections between tools that do not talk to each other, through APIs, data sync and internal workflow automation.

05

Production rebuilds of AI-generated MVPs

Taking a v0, Lovable or Bolt prototype to code that can ship and survive without you watching it.

06

Enterprise applications

A working tool for one team or one process, delivered in weeks with a defined scope.

How we work

Architecture decisions made deliberately, not by default.

We scope the architecture before we write any code, and we choose the stack to fit your requirements and your team's ability to maintain it. A defined-scope build runs about six weeks across five stages.
01

Scope

We work out what the system has to do before deciding how to build it. You get a requirements document, an architecture diagram and a stack recommendation with reasoning attached. If scoping shows you do not need custom development, we say so and stop.

02

Front-end

React and Next.js, built as a component library rather than a set of pages, so it stays extensible after launch and documented as it is written.

03

Back-end and integrations

Node or similar, depending on scoping conclusions. Database schema, an API layer, and integrations with the systems you already run, built in parallel with the front-end because the interfaces were agreed during scoping.

04

QA

Functionality, performance and security tested: cross-browser testing, load benchmarks and a security review before anything goes near production.

05

Deploy and handoff

Live deployment, hosting configured, full technical documentation and a real walkthrough session with whoever is taking over. Not a zip file and good luck.

Why Urest

Facts we can stand behind.

  • Certified Framer Studio
  • 7+ years in design and growth
  • Clients in 17+ countries
  • One senior team of five, no handoffs
  • Design, development and growth under one roof
  • Based in Poland, working across Europe and the US

Good fit

  • Focused custom builds with a clear scope
  • Custom front-ends on existing back-ends
  • Client and partner portals
  • Custom CRM development
  • Integrations and workflow automation
  • Production rebuilds of AI-generated MVPs
  • Enterprise applications with a defined scope, delivered in weeks

Poor fit

  • Large multi-year enterprise platform builds: a core banking system or an ERP replacement
  • 24/7 on-call support contracts
  • Big-bench procurement that requires fifteen developers
  • Staff augmentation by the seat

We say this on the page because getting it wrong costs both sides more than the sales call is worth.

Common questions

Questions about custom development.

React and Next.js on the front-end, Node or similar on the back-end. The specifics depend on what the project needs. We make the stack recommendation during technical scoping in week one, with the reasoning documented. We choose based on your requirements and on what your team can realistically maintain after handoff, not on what is currently fashionable. A stack you cannot hire for is a liability, however good it looks in a diagram.

Six weeks for a defined-scope build, from technical scoping to deployment and handoff. Scoping in weeks 1 to 2, front-end build in weeks 2 to 4, back-end and integrations in weeks 3 to 5 running in parallel, QA in weeks 5 to 6, and deployment in week 6. The parallel back-end work is only possible because the interfaces are agreed during scoping. Projects where scope changes mid-build take longer, and we flag that when it happens.

Yes. You get the full codebase, the database schema, the API documentation, the architecture diagram, and a handoff session with your developers. The test we apply is whether your team could take the project forward without us, which is what the documentation is for. There is no proprietary framework, no license, and no arrangement where you have to come back to us to make a change.

When Framer or Webflow will do the job. If you are building a marketing site, a content site, or landing pages you iterate on frequently, custom development costs more, takes longer, and hands your marketing team a dependency on a developer for every copy change. The genuine trigger for custom development is application logic: user accounts, permission models, a real data model, deep integrations with internal systems. If your requirements list does not contain any of those, start with Framer development.

Start here

Not sure whether you need custom development?

Good. That is the right place to start from. Bring us the requirements and we will tell you honestly whether this needs a custom build or whether Framer covers it, before anyone quotes anything.

We reply within one working day. No deck, no pitch.
